Position: Workshop Supervisor




Aim:
The aim of this role is to support the Workshop manager in maintaining the highest working standards and product quality within the workshop. This will be achieved through manual workshop labour, leadership and intercompany communication delivering the highest company standards.

General Tasks and Performance Objectives:
Adhere to all company procedures and policies.
Achieve works order targets and timescales, delivering jobs to the earliest lead times
Ensure that the Workshop team keep on top of reports, working through tasks to inform sales team of works to be done.
Keep sales team informed of job progress through regular interdepartmental management meetings
Keep workshop, workshop assigned warehouse space and appropriate yard area clean and organised
Ensure and maintain the highest level of quality and customer satisfaction with products
Ensure the staff and the workshop itself adhere to a safe code of practice
Maintain the highest levels of customer care. Assisting the sales team in achieving sales, dealing with customer complaints, finding the source of problems and providing suitable solutions
Achieve a high level of competence in all areas of engineering skills required for the job


Key Tasks:
Deal with suppliers and preparation of products for outsourcing
Understand and operate the Workshop Project Manager
Have a clear understanding of all current and future Works Orders
Oversee operations in the workshop alongside the workshop manager
Ensure staff adhere to code of practice and correct working hours
Assume control of the workshop in the absence of the workshop Manager
Communicate and keep up-to-date managers and staff in other areas of the business
Achieve a high level of competence in all areas of engineering skills required for the job (See skill set)


Skills & Experience:
Significant Experience in an engineering profession, preferably within the motor trade
Previous experience in a supervisory role with references and examples of experience
An engineering qualification
Good staff/customer facing interpersonal skills to enable difficult situations to be overcome successfully
Strong verbal communication skills
Moderate IT and Numeracy skills



Other Duties:
Any other duties as and when required by the Board/ Directors/ Managers that are reasonably within the capabilities of the person and are aimed at achieving the company's objectives and goals.
