Panel Builder Apprentice / Trainee
Excellent opportunity for someone with fairly basic wiring experience to learn a trade and build a rewarding career


Purpose:
The primary role of the Panel Build Apprentice is to learn the entire process and become fully competent in building our range of electrical panels. You will be working under general supervision on a wide range of assignments that require continual learning on the job with formal training both in-house and externally through accredited institutions.

Core learning and development.
You will learn the basics of wire preparation/termination for single core, multicore and screened cable. We customise all the metal cabinets/boxes we use so you will learn to use a range of metal cutting tools and you will also learn the skills required to mark out for drilling, tapping, hole punching and cutting out.
You will learn the basics of reading circuit diagrams, this will expand to a sound understanding of circuits enabling you to wire complete panels, carry out basic fault finding and developing into the skill set required to power up the finished panel.
All tools will be provided.


Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Prepare wiring for the build of panels and assemblies.
Prepare metal work for the build of panels and assemblies.
Prepare various subassemblies for the build of panels and assemblies.
All the above will develop into the required knowledge and skill set to build our entire range of panels and enable you to develop into the role of Technician, this can then progress to Lead technician depending on your ability to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the above along with the ability to lead projects from start to finish.
To assist with ad-hoc tasks in the workshop as instructed by Department Managers.
