Reporting To IT Manager
Job Purpose To provide Help Desk support for the Syspro ERP system and other Software and Hardware issues.
Main Duties and Areas of Responsibility (in order of priority)

Taking, allocating and resolving day-to-day IT helpdesk issues whether in relation to Syspro ERP system, network or other software/hardware issues.
Contributing to the development of the Syspro ERP system. This includes the creation and maintenance of custom Syspro programs along with writing relevant guides and technical documentation.
Keeping up to date with the latest Syspro ERP system enhancements and feeding these back to the end user, providing training where necessary.
Creating Syspro ERP system reports using the appropriate report writing software.
Contribute in writing I.T guides and procedures enabling all I.T staff to be able to provide cover during sickness/holiday leave.
Provide training to new ERP system users as part of their induction, providing them with a general understanding of Syspro and any key features within it.
Maintaining the company's telephone system
Carry out monthly/yearly health checks, which include: Backup success/failures, server disk space issues, Event Log errors, report validation etc.
Perform technical tasks including installing, trouble-shooting, testing, repairing, servicing and customizing equipment and software to meet the needs and requirements of the user.
Assist the IT Manager with any group IT projects
Assist the IT Manager with Syspro ERP system upgrades with the aim to later take full responsibility for this task.
Assist other areas of IT with sundry duties.












Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Competence required

2 years experience in an I.T support role
2 years experience supporting an ERP system (preferably Syspro)
Good at problem solving
Accurate
Self-motivated
Good verbal & written communication skills
Personable
Approachable
Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) in English and Maths


Tools, Machinery, Equipment to be used

Computer software (Syspro, VMware, Windows server, Terminal services, Exchange, SQL Server, SQL reporting services, crystal reports, VPN, ASP [Active Server Pages], .NET, Visual Basic, Easysite, EventSentry, Backup Exec, Symantec Antivirus, ICritical, MS Access, Other Microsoft Office applications).
Computer hardware (servers, pc's, printers, tape drives, etc)
P.C with current Microsoft operating systems

In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the jobholder is required to perform other duties assigned by the line manager from time to time.
The jobholder should be aware of and comply with company and statutory requirements regarding health & safety, fire and hygiene.
