RESPONSIBLE TO: TECHNICAL SERVICES MANAGER

SCOPE:

Working as part of the operational delivery team, the Facilities Supervisor will be an active member of the Facilities team with responsibility for:
Ensuring that all planned, reactive and emergency works are completed in a timely manner and to the required standards.
Co-ordinating the day to day work of the Facilities Team, and reporting any potential issues to the Technical Services Manager.
Maintaining the Facilities database to ensure that relevant information is accessible and that appropriate records are stored.
Delivering effective electrical and other maintenance support to the factory which will include scheduling planned maintenance to minimise asset downtime.
Assisting the Technical Services Manager in the development of maintenance strategies and procedures for a wide range of building services and manufacturing equipment.
Ensuring the department meets all applicable health and safety requirements.

MAIN DUTIES:

PEOPLE SUPERVISION:

To be responsible for the allocation of tasks to the facilities team, and the monitoring of timely progress and satisfactory workmanship standards.
To foster a sense of involvement and engagement amongst the Facilities team through effective supervision.
To ensure that work is carried out in compliance with all applicable health and safety legislation, so to protect the well being of all those that could be affected by it.
To supervise the facilities team in delivering a quality service across the business with a focus on continual improvement.
To support the Technical Services Manager in appraising the performance of individual team members, and ensuring they are developed in order to continually enhance service delivery and react to changing circumstances.

OPERATIONAL SERVICE DELIVERY:

To develop and maintain the Facilities database and produce reports on task and project status, and agree solutions to any issues that may arise.
To participate in relevant meetings.
To ensure that work is scheduled with appropriate timescales to minimise detrimental impacts on the performance of the business.
To assist in the selection of contractors, including evaluating their health and safety competence, and ensuring that a best-value service is provided.
To actively monitor the work of contractors.
To ensure that all Facilities processes makes a positive contribution to the business.

SERVICE IMPROVEMENT

The successful candidate will be expected to approach all tasks with the aim of continually seeking out opportunities for best practice, including cost reduction.

The nature of this role is such that it will interface with all staff as well as external contacts.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

To complete all other reasonable tasks required by the Technical Services Manager in order to fulfil the purpose of the role.
