Electrical Maintenance Engineer

An excellent opportunity has arisen with one of the UK's instantly recognisable food industry manufacturers who, due to increased investment is looking to add an experienced Electrical Engineer to their manufacturing team.

The work is varied and may include repairing automated packaging machinery, replacing motor drives, replacing seals, basic mechanical repair and even fixing general lighting and power faults. If the repair becomes more specialised then it may involve calling in outside help and basically co-ordinating the repair. As this is a new role within the company the person coming in will help define the role. This may include setting up preventative maintenance routines, building a supply of parts and even controlling some of the facilities maintenance.

As a result this company require an engineer who is prepared to "muck in" wherever necessary to get the job done. In response the company will offer a competitive salary and training opportunities. Applicants should have some formal qualification such as and apprenticeship or BTech / City & Guilds and ideally have experience within high speed equipment and machinery or general plant. Preference will be given to applicants with food industry experience or process plant.

The role is standard day shift but a level of flexibility will be required around equipment maintenance and reacting to breakdowns. I.e. if the plant has developed a fault at the end or the working day you may be required to work on and fix the fault.
