Aims and Objectives of the Post

To support the work of the School's Academic Programmes Office in administering to the needs of undergraduate students and academic staff of the School.

Duties and Responsibilities

To support the work of the School's Academic Programmes Office across the following range of activities:

Maintenance of data on the records system in collaboration with the Registry where appropriate, including recording of assessment results, post exam board confirmation, notification to students of results/examination board requirements ensuring that appropriate reassessments are made, and the recording of progress and other decisions.

Being one of the first points of contact for enquires and advising on procedures.

Assisting in the set up and organisation of examination boards. Ensuring that relevant information is recorded accurately and that all follow-up action is taken in an appropriate and timely manner. Providing administrative support for examination boards.

Working in conjunction with the senior Academic Programmes administrators in the preparation of the teaching timetables and examination timetables and beginning of year and beginning of term arrangements.

Assisting the senior Academic Programmes administrators in coordinating assessment submission deadlines across subject areas and overseeing the School's arrangements for student submission of coursework.

Administration related to students on taught courses in the School, including, maintenance of records and general administration of students, updating and development of programme and module specifications

Assisting the production of student handbooks, module outlines and general information for undergraduate students.

Supporting School assessment processes, including support for students with special educational needs and the identification of and arrangements for work to be sent to external examiners.

Supporting the administration of work placements

The collection and collation of module evaluations and other course review material for all academic programmes.

Additional Responsibilities Applicable to the Post holder

Undertake any other reasonable duties as required commensurate with the grade of the position.

Adhere to and comply with the provisions of the Health and Safety at Work Act and in accordance with the University's policy on health and safety.
